About Me
Hi! My name is Skyler, a Year 2 Student studying the Diploma in Media Production and Design. I have had an artistic background since young, having entered art competitions like the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), joining the Art Club in Secondary School and taking Art as an N-level subject, scoring Top 2 in the cohort for N-level Art. I eventually enrolled in Republic Polytechnic Poly for the Poly Foundation Programme (PFP) for Common Arts, Media and Design Programme.
I currently possess some basic industry skills, which include Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, XD, Canva, Drawing, Print Design, and Shirt Design. I currently have a few side projects outside of school, such as designing t-shirts using Adobe Illustrator and selling them online, doing commissions for businesses by filming and editing videos using Capcut and posting them online, having booths at events and designing catalogues, price lists and cards to sell prints of my cosplays.
I plan to become an MOE art teacher in the future. After completing my Polytechnic diploma, I plan to apply for MOE’s Art teacher training sponsorship, where successful applicants will become trainee teachers and enrol in a 2-year Diploma in Art Education (primary) program at the National Institute of Education (NIE). Another aspiration of mine is to become a graphic designer after graduating by interning at a company first and working my way up.
My hobbies include drawing, painting, playing the bass guitar and doing makeup on myself or others. I am currently working as a media and tech crew member at Jammerz Arena, a rock band CCA in TRCC. My responsibilities include designing posters for upcoming performances, creating multimedia for performances, helping with bumping in/out, and assisting with any technical difficulties that may occur during a performance backstage.
